Owning a pig as a pet with keep you squealing

Do you have a pet? The usual house pet is a dog or cat. Well now you can own a pig and have it in your home as a pet. Now I am sure that you have never thought of owning a pig. Nowadays people around the country are buying pigs and keeping them as a pet. The majority of people think they have to go to the zoo to see a pig. Apparently having a pig as a pet has a lot of pros.

Pigs are now on the intelligence list, along with humans, dolphins, and so much more. Most people would have never thought that pigs were intelligent. Usually pigs are observed while they are sleeping and appear to be lazy. Believe it or not pigs are one of the smartest animals.

Since the pigs are extremely intelligent having them as fulltime house pets can make them obnoxiously destructive. It is not uncommon for them to take up carpeting, or rip the couch, or even chew through drywall. Be sure to keep them busy unless you want a house destroyed.

Would you have guessed that you could hurt pig’s feelings? They are so sensitive that you could hurt their feelings. Don’t yell at them, make loud noises, etc. All they need is a little attention and a lot of love.

Did you know that pigs could have a litter box just like cats do? Normally the average pig will go to the bathroom in a particular spot when they are in the zoo or in the wild. Now you won’t have to worry about having your pig go to the bathroom in your house anywhere you don’t desire.

Unfortunately pigs are very prone to catching pneumonia. Since, pigs can be stressed, they can become susceptible to pneumonia. Unfortunately pneumonia can kill your pig very easily. Fortunately many vets will come to your home and give the proper care to the sick pig, because it is not easy and cheap to transport a pig to the doctor’s office.

Pigs have fur like cats or dogs, some people do not have an allergic reaction to them, but others do, therefore if you are allergic to cats/dogs, before getting a pig you should get tested to see if you are allergic and therefore healthy enough to own a pig.

If you think that pigs are disgusting animals that will make your house smell like a pigs sty, think again. Pigs are actually generally clean odorless animals. With the proper care you make your pig a your best friend.

Nowadays pigs are being killed for food like bacon. If you think pigs shouldn’t be killed for food and you want to rescue one, please consider adopting a pig instead of buying one.
