Colonia high school has been participating in the parade since 2000, and Mr. Perdoni has lead the marching band for the last 12 years. Through speaking to Mr. Perdoni, the inside information was released that this year’s band song will be the popular pop tune “Shut Up and Dance With Me” by Walk The Moon. Last year the band performed a part of their half time routine and as they marched the belted out the swing song “sing, sing, sing”.

Both Mr. Perdoni and the Band students are Excited to March this year. Perdoni states that “The Parade is good to recruit because we will see some younger kids there and when they see the band everyone is usually impressed. When it sounds good hopefully they will wanna join someday so it’s important that we do stuff like this…. I love a good parade!” The Colonia Pride Day Parade is the Start of the Colonia High Bands long season. It is the test trial to see how well they will do in all there competitions this year.

First year Color Guard member Jen Webber talks about how excited she is to walk in this years Colonia pride day parade. When asked why she was so excited she said “ It’s something I have never done before. It’s new to me, and different and I love to try new things. We have prepared and practiced all that we can. One Piece of advice I was given by an older member of the band was…If you think your smile is cheesy it’s not cheesy enough!”

Along with the Colonia High Band the cheerleaders will be walking in the parade too. The cheerleaders, equally important as the other festivities are ready to turn up the spirit and walk our streets with all the pride and pep they have in them. Also they plan on performing their “band cheer” as they chant and dance along with the band. “ I feel good to represent my town, I’m excited to march in a parade and show my pride to everyone I know!” said Manasa Kallur JV cheerleader.

This years Colonia Pride Day Parade will be a great experience for all Woodbridge township members. Support Colonia and all it stands for at this years annual Colonia pride day parade.
