Exploding in the sky these colorful and vibrant fireworks are the celebration of the 2013 Australia Day in Sydney.
On January 26, 1788, Captain Arthur Phillip guides a fleet of 11 British ships carrying convicts to the colony of New South Wales, effectively founding Australia. After overcoming a period of hardship, the fledgling colony began to celebrate the anniversary of this date with great fanfare. On Australia Day people celebrate all the things they love about Australia: land, sense of fair go, lifestyle, democracy, the freedoms we enjoy but particularly our people. The celebration includes barbeques, parties, fun, and fireworks.
