After starting his major league career 0/12, future MLB legend, Willie Mays connected for a solo home run in a 4-1 loss to the Boston Braves(re-branded as Atlanta).
Mays went on to have one of the greatest careers in MLB history, winning 2 MVPs, winning 12 Gold Gloves and being selected to 24 All-Star games. He also had a career batting average of .301, scored 2,068 runs and hit 660 home runs.
