The book Twilight debuted on October 5, 2005. Publishers will launch anniversary editions on September 30, 2025.
Books
For the anniversary celebrations, bookstores are releasing three special editions of Twilight. The original cover now has sprayed edges and features the quote. The quote reads “And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.” It sells for $19.99 at major retailers. Additionally, the collector’s edition features a hardcover with a floral design, golden edges, and hidden images. The images of Bella and Edward appear when someone tilts the book. It is priced at $40. Bookstores also retail a saga box set with new cover art and star-sprayed edges for $140.
I bought the box set on Amazon when it was on sale for $97. Happy as I am with my purchase, I wouldn’t have bought it if it were not on sale. I am currently reading Eclipse since that is where I left off in the series. Everyone I tell thinks that it is a crazy amount to spend on books. I personally think it is reasonable, as it comes out to about $20 per book, on sale.
Movies
In addition to the book releases, AMC, Regal, and Cinemark will screen the Twilight movies for the anniversary. Tickets are $20. Showings are: Twilight on October 29, New Moon on October 30, Eclipse on October 31, Breaking Dawn – Part 1 on November 1, and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 on November 2.
Colonia High School graduate Leila Smeila is very excited to see one of her favorite movies in a theater. Senior at Colonia High School, Mia Lavoura says, “I love the Twilight movies, so my friends and I are 100% going to go to the theaters to watch the movies.”
As I wish to watch “Twilight” in the movies with my cousin, I do not want to spend $20 on a ticket. Instead of going out to the movies, I would rather watch it at home on Disney+ with my cousin and order food with the $20 that would have been used on the ticket.
Crocs
On November 18, Crocs is releasing Twilight shoes and Jibbitz. The classic clog has blue Pacific Northwest scenery, Jacob and Edward’s faces on the heel, eight exclusive metal Jibbitz, and collaboration logos. These retail for $74.99.
The company is also releasing classic platform clogs on November 18th. Some special features of these classic platform clogs include glitter treatment, a printed forest scene, and 5 exclusive metal Jibbitz charms, accompanied by a Jibbitz chain featuring charms inspired by The Twilight Saga. The Twilight logo is also on the rivet, and the collaboration logo is on the footbed. These retail for $89.99.
The Jibbitz on sale are: a white, sparkly heart that says “Team Edward,” a brown heart that says “Team Jacob,” a red heart that says “Team Charlie,” and a black heart that reads “Team Carlisle.” Crocs sells all of these Jibbitz individually for $4.99, but there is a set containing five other Jibbitz. The set has a framed oval picture of Edward and one of Jacob. There is also a pink sparkly heart with a picture of Jacob, one that says “I Heart Boys Who Sparkle,” and a framed picture of Bella and Edward that reads, “You better hold on tight, spider monkey.” The individual Jibbit retails for $4.99 while the five-pack retails for $19.99.
Mia Lavoura says, “I honestly think it’s a really cool idea that they are making different products for this movie.”
I don’t plan on purchasing the Jibbitz because all of my Crocs are already full, and I don’t normally change them out. Instead of the Jibbitz, I would rather buy the platform clogs as I find them cuter than the regular clogs. I also like that the Crocs come with Jibbitz.
