This was also the first World Series to include a Black player, with Jackie Robinson breaking the league’s color barrier 6 months prior and winning (5-3) in another “subway series” between the Dodgers. It is also the first World Series to ever include a Black player. Jackie Robinson will be the first to do that after breaking the league’s color barrier 6 months before.
