On this day in history (September 30, 1918) President Woodrow Wilson spoke in favor of female suffrage. Wilson gives a speech before Congress in support of guaranteeing women the right to vote. Even though the House of Representatives has already passed the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote, the Senate has yet to make their vote. This amendment was then ratified a year later on August 18, 1920.
