Review
Halloween The Tradition
As Halloween approaches so do the traditions and festivities that go along with it. The costumes, candy, mischief and of course the movies! Today I’ll be reviewing the mystery/thriller 2011 release, The Cabin in the Woods.

With a budget of $30,000,000 The Cabin in the Woods had a weekend opening of around $15,000,000, however took a $94,348,403 cummaltive gross pay home. Directed by Drew Goddard and written by Joss Whedon, Drew Goddard the film went onto win a Saturn award, Bram Stoker award. Chainsaw Award, Fright Meter Award and many more. The cast consists of actors Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Jesse Williams, Fran Kranz. The run time is 95 minutes. R is the rating of the movie.
Plot
The Cabin in the Woods opens up with the regular scary movie approach. Five young college kids get together to have a night out to drink, party and have fun. Unbeknowst to the group they are part of a bigger, more scary plan than they could imagine. The group decides to head out to a cabin in the woods with the influence of a secret government experiment that makes its self more noticeable as the movie goes on. The whole movie set up going beyond the normal horror genre itself. This is essentially an attempt to codify free will. Do horror characters make choices because of the requirements of the genre, or because of their own decisions? This is a toggling situation within the movie.
Review
Personally I give this movie a 7 out of 10 skeletons and is a very thrilling and almost comedic play on the formula of making scary movies. They leave just enough out for a very compelling and realistic scary movie with the underlying message being presented at just the right time to tie the whole movie as a whole.
