Opinions
In my opinion, I really like the character’s development that is shown throughout the movie. It really shows a truthful impact of others that can have on your life. I also like the fact that it covers serious and truthful topics that people can relate to. Including alcohol addiction, high school, sex, and family problems. Teller acts his part well. For instance, the words he says during his voice-overs are just inspiring, so that also gives credit to the screenplay writers too. Woodley also plays her part really well. For example, Woodley is able to really make us feel her character’s emotions throughout the movie.
However, their are some things that annoyed me in the movie. For instance, Keeley’s ignorance and cockiness he has throughout most of the movie. He is still stuck on a girl who has moved on with another guy while still leading Finicky on. He thinks that the worst that can happen is he gives her a “boyfriend experience.” The one part I do find a little awkward in their acting is a laughing scene where they are laughing and the film flips between both characters. I just felt like the laughs were so fake and not well acted.
