On September 25, 1981, Sandra Day O’Connor the first female Supreme Court Justice is sworn in. She served the United States Supreme Court from 1981 until her retirement in 2006. She served on cases such as Mississippi University for Women v. Hogan, Roe v. Wade, and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. A famous quote of hers is “Do the best you can in every task, no matter how unimportant it may seem at the time. No one learns more about a problem than the person at the bottom.”
