Since its creation in 1872, Yellowstone National Park continues to fascinate Americans
Today in 1872, President Grant signed off to establish the country’s first National Park. The region is notorious for its geysers, canyons, and mud pots that all fascinated Americans of the time. Congress would move to set aside 1,221,773 acres of public land, that would be preserved from any injury or spoliation. Yellowstone still stands strong today and continues to marvel Americans the way it did so many years ago.
