Alfred Whitney Griswold (1906-1963) was an American historian and educator. Griswold served as the 16th President for Yale University, which is known for its painstakingly low acceptance rate. During his term as president, he built much of Yale’s modern scientific research infrastructure. Griswold is also credited for significantly improving Yale through finances and many other things.
