Charlotte Bronte (1816 – 1855) was an English novelist and poet and the eldest of the three Bronte sisters that survived into adulthood. Bronte’s novels have become classics to English literature. One of Bronte’s most well-acclaimed novels was Jane Eyre, which was not very popular at the time it was released- it was hailed an ‘anti-Christian’ work. Over time, Bronte became more and more well-acclaimed until she became the highly popular author she is today.
