On this day in 1933, the Philadelphia Eagles played their first NFL game ever. They faced off against the New York Giants, who still to this day are big time rivals of the Eagles. The Eagles would end up losing this game by a score of 56-0. This is possibly one of the worst ways to start your career as an NFL franchise. The Eagles however did bounce back and end up having a very solid tenure as an NFL franchise. They would go on to win 3 championships in the pre-super bowl era. They were in a long drought in getting their first super bowl win, as it took them 51 years to get their first one. The Eagles bounced back very well from a really rough first game, and now are the reigning champions of the league.
