On this day in 2004, Lionel Messi made his debut for Barcelona. Messi who is now 31 years old, was only 17 at the time. He has been playing for Barcelona since then. Messi has had an extremely successful career with Barcelona, and is by far their all-time leading goal scorer. Having scored a total of 563 official goals for Barcelona, he is 331 goals ahead of the next top scorer. Messi has gone on to win 9 league titles, 4 champions league titles, and 5 Ballon d’Ors (the award for the best soccer player in the world). It is safe to say that he has shown so signs of slowing down either.
