Seen here is the United Center Arena, home of the Chicago Bulls, who Thurmond played for when getting the quadruple double.
On this day in 1974, fans of the NBA were able to see the first quadruple double ever. To get a quadruple double a player must get 10+ of four different stat categories. This could mean 10 or more points, assists, rebounds, blocks, or steals. Nate Thurmond was the man who first accomplished this, and he did it as a member of the Chicago Bulls. His stat line looked like this: 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists & 12 blocks. There have only been four of these in NBA history, with the latest being from 1994.
