On this day in 2013, the Notre Dame football team lost big in the BCS Championship game. The Fighting Irish could not handle the Alabama Crimson Tide, and lost by four touchdowns, or 28 points. This, although disappointing, is not really surprising for Notre Dame. They have not won any of their last eight major bowl games, and are losing by an average of 28 points throughout those contests. It is safe to say that this is not the best time to be a fan of the Fighting Irish.
