On this day in 1895, baseball legend Babe Ruth was born. Ruth was born in Baltimore Maryland. Throughout his career, he was a member of both the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. When the Red Sox traded him to the Yankees, they were unable to win a championship for 86 years. For this reason, the Red Sox were said to have the “Curse of the Bambino.”
