On this day in 1984, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar broke the NBA’s all-time scoring record. To do this, he had to pass Wilt Chamberlain, who once was able to score 100 points in a single game. Abdul-Jabbar still holds this record, and unless Lebron James breaks it, it should stand for a while.
