Nathaniel Hawthorne was an American novelist, dark romantic, and short story writer. His works often focus on history, morality, and religion. He was born in 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts, to Nathaniel Hathorne and the former Elizabeth Clarke Manning.

Anayah Qayyum, Reporter
Anayah Qayyum is currently a Junior at Colonia High School and is in her second year of Journalism. She descends from a pure Pakistani household but was born and raised in New Jersey. In addition, Qayyum has two younger brothers and is very close to her family. Qayyum is part of the Marching Patriots family and enjoys working in a group environment. She appreciates reading about people's opinions and writing about them on The Declaration.  Overall, Qayyum enjoys writing and spending her time with the Declaration.
