Lakers legend, Magic Johnson led the Lakers to 5 championships in the 80s and 90s era. His career spanned over 13 seasons and he broke the assist record in 1991 and held it until 1995. His prime was cut short due to his HIV diagnosis but the Hall of Famer made a brief return in the 1995-96 season. Although he wasn’t the player he used to be, he still had his moments throughout the season. He achieved the milestone of 10,000 assists, an accomplished only made by John Stockton before him. The former MVP finished the game with 15 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds which was enough to help the Lakers outlast the Kings by a score of 102-89. Since Magic’s retirement, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash and Mark Jackson have joined the list.
