The former first overall pick was an NCAA champion with the UCLA Bruins and an NBA champion with both the Portland Trail Blazers and the Boston Celtics. He was a member of one of the best NBA teams ever assembled, the 1986 Celtics who won 67 games and cruised through the playoffs with a 15-3 record. Unfortunately, following the success of 1986, Walton suffered constant injuries leading to his retirement in 1987. Walton’s success was celebrated in 1993 with his induction to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
