After a record-breaking season, Henry took home the 81st Heisman Trophy and became the second Alabama player to win the Heisman Trophy.
The running back came off an impressive junior campaign where he rushed for an SEC-record 1,986 yards. The record was previously held by Herschel Walker who set the record in 1982. Henry also tied the SEC record with 23 touchdowns.
King Henry beat out Christian McCaffery and Deshaun Watson, who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
He was the first running back to win Heisman since fellow Alabama alum, Mark Ingram won the award in 2009.
He also won the Doak Walker Award(given to the country’s best running back) and the Maxwell Award(given to the best college football player).
He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2016 and spent 8 years with the team, winning Offensive Player of the Year in 2020 and leading the league in touchdowns twice. In 2023, Henry signed with the Ravens in free agency.
