As we head into a new year, new opportunities arise. Should we make way for incoming fashion? Or should we allow old skeletons to clutter our closets?
Comparing The 1920s To The 2020s
In our day and age, the 2020s aesthetic is nothing close to what happened in the 1920s. Is our freedom to dress how we please fogging up a designer’s mind? Are the lack of boundaries halting our ability to shatter the glass ceiling? The 1920s was an elegant era filled with fancy and sophisticated outfits. Fast forward to the present day and we can tell we’ve strayed far away from our once demur lifestyle. Suits with style have been replaced with leisure wear and saggy pants. What’s the deal with saggy pants anyway? It’s stylish to have your underwear showing? Today’s aesthetic should be called the comfy era because everyone either looks like they’ve either rolled out of bed or roamed the streets and not in a good way.
Motivation For The New Year
It’s 2025, we are halfway to 2030! Living through half a decade means the other half needs to have a different vibe. As a society, we have to change our mindset. No more saying, “I have no one to impress” Get up and get dressed, make yourself look nice. A lot of people complain about not being able to find love while at the same time not putting effort into themselves. Not to mention the more effort you put into yourself the more self-love you are going to feel. Our mindsets must switch from wanting to be a gangster to wanting to be a man. Dressing for the job you want not the job you have, you know. We want to be the best version of ourselves and putting that good energy out into the world will greatly benefit you.
Oversized Mayhem
In this exciting decade, we have seen since the end of 2019 the rise of oversized mayhem. One thing is for sure and it’s that L and XL are in but not for our plus-sized peers. Nowadays sizing up completes the style. That could’ve flown from 2020-24 but now it’s 25 and we’re heading over the hill and time to switch it up. What’s the need for an oversized sweater unless for sleeping in, wearing that out into the street makes you seem sloppy and not put together. Your oversized “jean shorts” aren’t shorts, they’re pants with a cutoff. This is what I mean, if people are going to go out of their way to make pants and call them jean shorts then why don’t they just sit down and make something new?
Over Comfortable
In 2025 when I wake up I want to see individuality and personal style. I don’t want to walk into the world and see people and full sweat suits. These sweatsuits aren’t even like juicy couture tracksuits they’re just oversized flowing full-body sets that don’t even compliment your body. It’s a misconception that if you don’t dress comfy you’re not going to be comfortable when that isn’t true. Self-confidence and self-love will make you comfortable in any outfit it doesn’t matter if it’s a jumbo marshmallow that you call a sweat suit.
