What is the book about?
The book is a story about a girl named Millie, who has recently lost her job and apartment. She applied for jobs but no one will hire her. One day, she went to a very rich house to be interviewed by a wealthy woman named Nina Winchester who has a husband and one daughter. The interview went great, but she wasn’t sure if she’d get the job. Considering she had just recently been released from prison. A rich woman like Nina Winchester must do a background check before hiring someone, right?
While she was eating in her car, she got a call from Nina Winchester telling her that she got the job. Millie was very happy, she went to the house as soon as she could. When she got to the Winchester’s house, the house looked different. It looks way dirtier than before, which is weird. One thing that makes the situation weirder is they have so many bedrooms and a very big house, but they give Millie a room in the attic.
After she put all of her stuff in the room, she realized that the room was odd. The door locks from the outside and has a deep scratch mark on the floor. It feels like there was someone who was trying to escape.
