In the year 2024, there had been many rises of new celebrities and many falls of old celebrities; however, something that doesn’t get talked about enough is the amount of celebrity deaths that happened. As people have worked to build a name to them it is important to recognize and mourn the celebrity death going on.

January

 Celebrity Glynis Johns died at the age of 100. Johns co starred with Julie Andrews in the popular movie Mary Poppins. He had died in an assisted living home in Los Angeles from natural causes.  Johns had 2 nominations and 2 wins in the Academy Awards. Another death in many that had happened in January was the death of N. Scott Momaday. N. Scott Momaday was a winner of the Pulitzer prize, 23 annual awards given by Columbia University for journalism, writing and letters. 

February

 Celebrity Carl Weathers, died on the 1st of the month. Carl Weathers was an American football player, and director. Weather died at the age of 76. 

March

Iris Apel died in March of 2024. Apel was a fashion designer, fashion icon, as well as a business woman. She exceeded the normal death and died at the age of 102.  

 April

Peter Higgs died at the age of 94. Higgs profession dealt with physics, called a theoretical physician. He won a Nobel prize in 2013 for physics as well.

 May

 Celebrity Roger Cormann died at the age of 98. Cormann was an American film, producer, director (Little Shop of Horrors; The Ravens), and Hollywood mentor.

June

Celebrity Carl Cain died on the second; he died at the age of 89. He was an American basketball player who won the olympics gold in 1956.

July

Celebrity Tessie Prevost died at 69 on the 6th. He was an American Civil Right Pioneer. Prevost was one of the first four of 6 year old students to desegregate New Orleans school. He died of complications from liver problems. 

August

August of 2024, Phil Donahue died at 88. He had his own show called The Phil Donahue Show. He was an American Emmy Award-winning daytime television talk show host. 

September

On September In 2024, Mark Moffatt died at 74. Moffatt was an Australian guitarist, songwriter, and record producer ( The Monitors; Tim Finn). Moffatt died from pancreatic cancer. 

October

Jordan Klein died in October. He died on the 1st. Klein is an underwater photographer, cinematographer, as well as director (Thunderball). He died at 98. 

November

Although this next thing is not a human, it is still considered a celebrity: Cassius. Cassius is an Australian crocodile, also known as the world’s largest crocodile, being held captive at 5.5 M. She died in Queensland at the age of 121.

December

Finally, in December of 2024 celebrity Anita Bryant died at the age of 84. She was a American singer (“My Little Corner of the World”), Florida orange juice spokeswoman, and anti-homosexuality campaigner.
