Two years after suffering an embarrassing 31-9 loss to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs found themselves back in familiar territory but this time against the Eagles.
Unlike the game against the Bucs, the Chiefs offensive fire power was on full display. Unfortunately for Kansas City, the Eagles showcased a strong offense in their own right, keeping the game close and even taking a 24-14 lead heading into halftime.
The Chiefs have been down by 10 plenty of times during this Mahomes Era and almost every game, they have managed to dig their way out of that hole. 3 years before, in Super Bowl 54, they were down by 10 in the third quarter to the San Francisco 49ers and they still managed to come out on top. This game was no different as they outscored Philly 24-11 in the second half to win the game 38-35. Patrick Mahomes won his second Super Bowl MVP after a 3 touchdown performance.
Last week, the Eagles got their shot at redemption on the Chiefs and they took full advantage. They dominated the game, winning 40-22 and Jalen Hurts was given MVP honors.
