After a nine year career, star tight end, Rob Gronkowski announced he was ending his time in the NFL. He played all nine years with the New England Patriots and helped them win 3 Super Bowl rings.
He was drafted in the second round of the 2010 draft and in his 9 seasons, he caught 79 touchdowns, scoring more than 10 in 5 of his seasons, which is the most by any tight end in NFL history.
In addition to his regular season success, he had 81 receptions, 1,163 yards and 12 touchdowns in 16 playoff games. His 12 touchdowns are tied for second behind Jerry Rice, who had 22 postseason touchdown receptions.
He made a brief return in 2020 and 2021, joining former teammate Tom Brady on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They won a 4th Super Bowl together in 2020 and after losing in the Divisional Round to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, Gronkowski retired for a second time.
