The Declaration

Passing in 2005, the late Rosa Parks was a famous activist during the civil rights movement. Her refusal to give up her seat for a white passenger in 1955 is her most known protest.

Known as the "Queen of Soul", American singer, songwriter and pianist Aretha Franklin was a pioneer in Black American music. With over 75 million record sales, she also sang during Barack Obama inauguration in 2009.
