Behind the NASA astronaut that orbited around Earth, mathematician Katherine Johnson was one of the many women the public doesn't credit for these achievements. In 2015, she was granted the Medal of Freedom by President Obama and five years later, she passed in 2020.

The first woman to reach the top of Mount Everest is Junko Tabei and the first woman to climb the Seven Summit. The late mountain pioneer climbed the world's most infamously difficult and tallest obstacles and was also an author and teacher.
