Quote of the Day

By: Rebecca Melton, Spring Editor & Reporter

Ada Lovelace (1815-1852) was a gifted mathematician, and is thought to be the first ever computer programmer. Lovelace introduced many computer concepts to the world that no one had previously thought about. Her mother insisted that she be tutored in mathematics and science, so Lovelace grew with and abundant knowledge in the subjects. Lovelace’s work would not be found until the 1950’s, however. She received many posthumous awards for her work.
