Ansel Adams (1902 – 1984) was an American photographer and environmentalist. His photographs were primarily black-and-white landscape portraits of the American west. His works have been widely reproduced over calendars, posters, books, and the internet. Throughout his life, Adams was interested in all forms of art- from music to painting. His interest in art developed over the years and now he is primarily known for his photography.
