On this day in 1944, sportscaster Al Michaels was born in Brooklyn, New York. Michaels is one of the most famous voices in all of sports and has been working in the industry since 1977. He started off with ABC and more recently switched over to NBC. Since being with NBC, he has taken the role of commentating over the Sunday Night game, which is usually the biggest game of the week. He also made one of the most memorable calls in sports broadcasting history. He was part of the crew who commentated over the Miracle on Ice hockey game between the USA and the powerhouse of the Soviet Union.
