Pictured is a more modern form of Christmas caroling. People go out in groups and sing holiday songs.

Why do people go around Christmas caroling? Caroling was based on the English tradition of ‘wassailing.’ This is the practice of toasting to someone’s good health and fortune. St. Francis of Assisi converted this tradition to the current form of caroling.
