Legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan finished his career with the current all-time record of 5,714 strikeouts. He accomplished the feat of 3,500 strikeouts with the Houston Astros, his longest tenured team. Ryan played 27 years in the MLB, spending nine of them with the Astros, eight with the Angels, 5 with the Mets and 5 with the Rangers. In addition to his strikeout record, Ryan also ranks first in no-hitters with 7, he is fifth in innings pitched(5,386), second in games started(773) and seventh in shutouts(61).
