Hall of Fame slugger, Ken Griffey Jr hit his 200th homer in a game against the Boston Red Sox. Griffey was outstanding throughout the game, going 3/6 with 5 RBIs to add to his historic home run. The Mariners won the game 13-7 to bring their record to 23-20 on the year. The home run was the 11th of the year for Griffey and he would go on to hit 49 on the season on his way to 7th All Star appearance in 8 years.
