Target Age
“Meet Me Next Christmas” is a PG-rated movie that targets ages 12+. It is a feel-good rom-com that is perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit. Although it was predictable at times, it was heart-warming and romantic. This is definitely a movie I would rewatch during the holiday season.
Opinions
As a rom-com lover, I enjoyed this movie. Some might say it was predictable and cringeworthy, but I love a good cliche romance movie for the holidays. It gets you into the Christmas spirit which nowadays feels lost. The dramatic Christmas miracle is what makes this movie so lovable.
After watching the movie I read some reviews and was shocked to see so many one stars. Most were complaining about how cheesy it was and predictable but that’s the point of a good rom-com. I mean what rom-com Christmas movie isn’t cheesy? The acting overall was okay, I think the lead actors were good, especially Christina Milian. I think she is a perfect lead for a rom-com and I enjoyed her lip-syncing battle scene with Devale Ellis. In the scene, she lip-syncs “Santa Baby” with her co-star. I liked the performance and thought it was well played out. The soundtrack was also enjoyable. I like that most of the songs were Pentatonix songs which made sense because of the plot. They also played classic Christmas songs which helps viewers get into the Christmas spirit.
Emma Fernandes, a junior at Colonia High School who watched the film said, “I really enjoyed the movie but I do think it was pretty similar to other Christmas movies. They all get stuck at the airport and something magical happens, but overall I thought it was a cute rom-com.” When asked if she’d watch it again she responded, “I do think I’d rewatch it. There were funny parts, sad, and happy. I just think it’s a cute movie to watch during the Holiday season.”
