One of the greatest pitchers in baseball history, Nolan Ryan clocked in his 6th no-hitter of his illustrious career at the age of 43.
This made him the oldest pitcher to throw a no-hitter in his career. Ryan was in his 24th season and was feeling his age, dealing with a variety of injuries. After a hot start to the season, the Express began to cool down until a game against the Oakland A’s.
Ryan threw 130 pitches and in addition to his 6th no-hitter, Ryan also threw his 59th shutout and won his 294th game in his career.
