Cookie Run: Kingdom is a 2021 role-playing video game developed and published by Devsisters. It is the sixth game in the Cookie Run series. It was announced on November 28, 2020, and released worldwide on January 19, 2021, on Android and iOS. On July 12, 2023, it was released on Google Play Games on PC.
It’s a social, free-to-play, RPG and city builder hybrid gacha game and a spinoff of the main side-scrolling platformer titles of the Cookie Run franchise.
Gameplay
Initially, when starting the game, you are brought with your own kingdom and a team of 5 cookies. You can decorate your own kingdom and play against players as well. On top of that, it’s super easy to cultivate materials and coins, unlike other games.
As a returning player myself, there are a lot of new updates to note, like the featured cookie in the gacha, Awakened Holleyberry Cookie. The month before it was Eternal Sugar, which I played during that time, and pulled her character. The game is not only nice because of its graphics, but also because it isn’t a hard game to play at all.
Guiliana Rhilo, a previous player, notes how she appreciates how lighthearted and enjoyable the game is and how it caters to the fans who play it as well.
Additionally, players always have something that they can do at all times in the game, like World Exploration, Arena, Guild Battles, and event tasks.
Content/Graphics of the Game
Besides that it has a lot of lore within the World Exploration and Beast Yeast aspect. Very interesting and well thought out for a kids’ game that makes for an entertaining adventure.
The graphics are very well done, and I’m honestly impressed by how creative and well-done the character designs are. Very creative in terms of making it look aesthetically pleasing as well as matching their themes.
Deconstructors of Fun notes the similar art styles in popular shows like Power Puff Girls and My Little Pony, which all have a prominent adult fanbase as well as a younger one. Proving its inventiveness and keen eye on what its players want.
On top of that, it has no forced ads, probably because all their revenue comes from in-app purchases. Instead, it’s only optional if you’d like to get more benefits like extra rewards and such.
One player on MiniReview adds, “Although paying players have a pay-to-progress-faster advantage, it’s definitely possible to enjoy the game as a free player if you like the genre.”

In 2021, Cookie Run: Kingdom was a top-performing RPG in the United States, ranking 16th in revenue and 1st in downloads among the top 100 revenue-generating RPGs. It also achieved top revenue rankings in several Asian countries like South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
The game’s success is evident in its download numbers, reaching over 150 million downloads by June 2021 according to the Way Back Machine Archive.
Overall, I would recommend this to kids in middle school and up, mostly because it has a lot of reading aspects, although it can be managed with just a basic understanding. And in general, it is very entertaining and engaging.
