Hollister has been growing very rapidly as a brand. The quality of there clothes have been the main focal point that every reviewer talks about. There clothes are very durable, thick and made of good materials. Some may say that the pricing of the shirt is a tad too high but others also argue that you should pay more for better quality. Hoodies and Zip ups have been Hollisters Specialty recently with many teens all of America buying them and being there most selling product in the past year. The T shirt is very close behind and could overtake that spot. Hollisters tops usually receive a star rating of between 4.7 to 5 out of 5 stars.
Hollisters comparison to other Brands –
As some may know Hollister is owned by the same parent company as Abercrombie & Fitch. Hollister was launched to appeal to younger teen audience, more price-sensitive shoppers, while Abercrombie is positioned as a more adult brand. Abercrombie is tailored well, with thicker and more durable quality but Hollister prioritizes softer fabric and trendier styles.
Hollister is generally known for a more trendy, “Fast Fashion” approach. Old Navy is known for a wider range of basic and casual styles for the whole family. Old Navy is very affordable, low priced and often has many deals. Hollister tends to be much more pricey but still generally affordable. Old Navy is directed towards all ages, primarily with old school designs.
Reviews on Hollister –
Based on recent customer feedback, Hollister are generally well-regarded for their softness, comfort, and variety of fits, with many appreciating the move away from prominent logos. However, some recent reviews indicate a potential decline in quality compared to older products, especially with lighter-weight t-shirts.
After a conversation with Destiny Perez, (student at Colonia High School) she stated “Personally I believe the brand is very pricey, but has amazing quality. There clothes are very trendy and follow up with everything that’s currently relevant.”
Positive reviews
- Good fit and comfort: Customers frequently praise the excellent fit of Hollister, with some noting they are true to size. Many appreciate the comfort, citing soft materials and good stretch.
- High quality (especially older shirts): Some long-term customers recall the brand’s quality as “fantastic” in past years, with shirts feeling thick and holding up for a long time.
- Diverse styles: Hollister now offers a variety of fits, from classic crew to heavyweight and relaxed stretch options. Reviewers note that the brand is keeping up with current trends.
- Less logomania: For a more modern look, many customers appreciate that the brand no longer plasters its logo on everything.
Negative reviews
- Recent decline in quality: Some customers have observed a noticeable decline in the quality of recently purchased compared to their older ones. The material is described as thinner and potentially prone to pilling after just a few washes.
- Inconsistent sizing and fit: While many find the sizing accurate, others report inconsistencies, even among identical items. Some have also noted a change in the dimensions of certain products over time.
- Heavier products can be bad: In contrast to the praise for the heavyweight options, some have complained about the poor quality of heavyweight shirts, though these are from slightly older reviews.
- Customer service issues: Yelp reviews mention problems with in-store customer service, with some experiences leaving customers feeling undervalued.
My Opinion –
Personally, I really like this brand. I think the materials are very soft, comfortable, stylish. In my opinion the prices are the biggest downside with this brand. Many people say $25+ for a singular shirt is way too expensive but I think the quality of there items make up for its price. Personally I own multiple hoodies, sweat pants and shirts. Hollister is currently one of my favorite brands to wear. As I walk through the halls I see many students wear Hollister aswell. This brand is rapidly taking over the fashion industry.
