Many people find the piano intimidating, but once they understand the concept of the instrument, they can achieve great results and find it becomes easy.
History
According to The Story of the Piano’s Invention, the first piano was introduced to the world around the year 1700 in Italy. Bartolomeo Cristofori created this new instrument. But instead of creating a 88-key instrument, he created one with 54 keys.
Based on History of Piano, the first keyboard was invented in France in 1947. Unfortunately, the new type of piano didn’t thrive.
Types
As the years evolved, inventors created different forms of the piano. There are now many different types to encourage different learners to learn. Although at first they didn’t hit, the electric keyboard became popular in 1980, allowing people to play different types of music genres on the piano.
Electric pianos became popular in the 2000s and many bands now use them.
Popular Songs
As soon as manufacturers made the piano, many artists decided to include the instrument in their work. Pianote gives examples of the most popular songs back then. These include, “Turkish Marsh” by Mozart, “Clair de lune” by Debussy, and “Misty” by Erroll Garner. These songs vary from the time 1784 to 1954. To teens today, many of these songs are not recognized or “ancient”.
“My favorite song to play is Little Liza Jane.” Said Olivia Gontarz, a Colonia High School student.
Other popular songs/bands known today include: “All of Me” – John Legend, “Clocks”-Coldplay, and “If I Ain’t Got You” – Alicia Keys.
Beginners
Most instruments take lots of practice, but for the piano, you’re memorizing a pattern of buttons. Some would say every song is almost like a memory game of sound. For example, when someone plays the guitar, they need to learn how to play notes and how much pressure to apply to the strings.. They also have to know how to strum and then later on sing along.
“Piano is a very easy instrument to learn; it stimulates your brain. My favorite song to play is Runaway by Kanye West.” said another student at Colonia High, Ivana Gidado.
Looking up a quick tutorial and taking it step by step can lead someone to play their favorite song in just a couple of minutes. If you want to master the piano, you would have to learn the sound of every key, so when you want to learn a sound, you don’t need a tutorial. All you need is your ears.
Opinions
Based on Hoffman Academy, the piano design allows many children to play from a young age. The piano also allows children to learn how to read a music sheet, which could be really useful if it is a passion that a child wants to follow.
The piano allows the brain to stay moving, which leads to new hobbies and fun experiences.
