Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District was a 2017 court case that raised educational standards for students with disabilities. His parents sought reimbursement for the private school after moving Endrew F., an autistic student, there so he could thrive. They made the arguement that the school didn’t provide a “free appropriate public education” under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The court ruled that educators should design an IEP to make a student fully integrated in a classroom so the student could make progress in the classroom.
