Colonia Softball defeats Iselin Kennedy

Colonia softball defeated Kennedy 2-5 at Colonia on Friday, April 24th.Batting average for Colonia the 2015 season is .35, their overall record for this year is 8-11.

Colonia’s batting was Kate Brannigan, Patricia Daneke, Jessica Donovan, Hannah Doyle, Cat Mantagas, Jillian Mizak, Yamilee Moreta, Gaby Perez, and Julli Wright. The pitcher for this game  was Patricia Daneke.

The game began at 4 PM at Colonia. In the bottom of the first inning Colonia scored making the score 0-1. Bottom of the second inning Colonia scored twice making the score 0-3. Top of the fourth inning Iselin Kennedy scores twice making the score 2-3 Colonia. Bottom of the fourth inning Colonia scores twice making score 2-5 Colonia. The game continued with neither team scoring after the fourth inning. The game concluded in the seventh inning with the score being 2-5 in Colonia’s favor.

Alexandra Powanda is a senior at Colonia High School, and is currently 17 years old. She plans on going to college for journalism after high school. She enjoys writing in her spare time and would possibly like to become an author when older. Music is something that she always listens to, she likes all kinds of genres . Watching movies is another thing she enjoys, her favorite movies include, Titanic and Harry Potter. Her favorite book is 13 Reasons Why and she likes to read The Maze Runner series. She likes watching sports like major league baseball and use to play softball. She likes photography, painting, and just being creative. Powanda hopes to be very successful in her future and accomplish many goals.
