Make it green

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and for the holidays I love to bake! Sometimes I just do old family recipes but I wanted to try something new. I usually go to “Pinterest” to find all my cooking and baking ideas. This year I found a cookie recipe but with a cake as the batter. It seemed odd but it looked super good and seemed easy. All you need is; vanilla cake mix, eggs, oil, powder sugar, and food dye. You mix up the cake batter add some green food dye and put it in the fridge for an hour, take it out and roll the batter into balls. As you roll them into the balls you roll them into the powder sugar. Put in the oven at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes. When they are done they are cute green St. Patrick Day cookies. My family loved the cookies and they’re almost all gone. They were super easy to make and I would definitely suggest trying. Another idea could be just a cake with green frosting and green icing. I also made this, it was so yummy and I added some green sprinkles to top it off. Another super easy dessert, all you need is a cake batter, oil, eggs, water, food dye, and icing. You mix it all up and put it in the oven for about 25 minutes or until the toothpick doesn’t have anything stuck on it. Then you get your green icing and put that on and some sprinkles.

Hop into Easter

With Easter being the next holiday there are a bunch of cute baking ideas. Rice Krispies are super easy to make homemade and then shape them into eggs. I did this last Easter with my little brother, it was super messy but super fun. To make the homemade Rice Krispies all you need is marshmallows melted with some butter and the Rice Krispie cereal. After we mixed all that up and put some pastel food dye in it like pink, purple, blue, yellow, and green. Then we got some plastic egg molding and stuffed them with the mix. Then they looked like little Easter eggs, we made so many and gave them to our family and friends. They were so cute and so addicting to eat. During Easter, M&Ms come out with pastel-colored M&Ms. So what I also do is get chocolate chip cookie dough and add some of the M&Ms to the dough so it’s really simple but they look more spring-ish. They are very easy to make and who doesn’t love cookies.

A nice cool drink

When the warmer weather comes a nice cold drink taste the best. Especially when it’s very hot a nice cold lemonade. But it’s so much better when you make it homemade. I make it in the summer all the time with my boyfriend. We get a bunch of ice, a bunch of lemons, sugar, and some water. We boil the sugar in the water and pour it into our lemonade pitcher with the ice. Then we use our lemon squeezer and squeeze all the lemon juice out till we think we have enough and then pour that into our pitcher. Give it a good stir and there you have it a nice cold lemonade on a nice warm day. Another drink I love in the summer is strawberry lemonade slushy. I get a frozen lemonade concentrated and some fresh strawberries and put it in a blender with some ice. Once it’s all blended you can get some mason jars and cut a slice of lemon and place it on top. A cute drink and very refreshing for a hot day.
