Machine Gun Kelly’s birthday is April 22nd. He celebrated with friends, family, and while listening to “Love Race.”

An artist, who started off as a rapper, now turns alternative. Colson Baker, or Machine Gun Kelly, now produces alternative/rock music. His most recent album was released in September of 2020. This placed him at the top of the Billboard 200. In addition, on April 29, 2021, the song “Love Race” was heard through many other music apps.

Background

Growing up, Colson Baker had always had a love for music. With his family constantly moving, he felt as though it was his only way of finding comfort. Making friends was always a struggle for him due to the fact he had a lisp. Later in life, he was able to correct it, and that changed everything. It was from that point on that he was able to fully enjoy singing and writing songs. On October 9, 2012, Machine Gun Kelly had released his first album, as a rapper. The album, “Lace Up,” started it all. Less than a year later, he released his “Black Flag” album. This album talks about his past and how he was able to come up from it. Some of his struggles are included here, as they are also included in his “Bloom” album. “Bloom” was released in August of 2018.

New album

An Instagram post started it all. There Machine Gun Kelly is dancing on a table full of people in business attire air playing the guitar to a song. The post initiated everything. From fans becoming intrigued, to rumors spreading. In time, the release date for the new album was set.  September 25, 2020; the day that many fans couldn’t wait for. Tickets to my Downfall was finally released. Only this album was different. Machine Gun Kelly had relinquished his inner alternative/emo side. Many artists were featured such as Halsey, Trippie Redd, Yungblud, and more. The album itself received many awards and fans were impressed.

The new song

On April 28, a surprise from the young artist was announced to his fans. The release of a new song would be on April 29, 2021. The song itself received many positive comments and reviews. Many of his fans, appreciated the song along with a well-known artist in the alternative music industry, being featured in it.

Kellin Quinn, lead singer of the band “Sleeping with Sirens,” sang with Machine Gun Kelly. An interesting vocal range in which Kellin Quinn has, as he does sing higher in pitch, he was able to flow well with MGK. Together, they were able to create a song, with a combination of both of their singing tactics. In regards to “Sleeping with Sirens,” they tend to express their emotions through their music through screaming. As there was slight screaming from Kellin Quinn, MGK was able to maintain his style which focuses more not the drums and guitar with his deeper voice.

Conclusion

All in all, Machine Gun Kelly is a very well-known artist. However, many people who do not know him well, they know him from the song, “Bad Things,” with Camilla Cabello. After his release of “Tickets to my Downfall,” he was interviewed by many celebrities such as Kelly Clarkson. Many people in which he was interviewed, wanted sneak peeks as to the meaning behind the album itself. In addition, they also wanted to know what influenced him to write it.

As explained in many videos and interviews Machine Gun Kelly was influenced and motivated based on the hate he would receive. The hate gave him an opportunity to prosper and to grow. He felt as though he was able to prove the haters wrong, especially in “Tickets to my Downfall.” The release of “Love Race,” is rumored to be an inside look to his new album. With the number of views on the new song, 3,003,291 according to YouTube, he will continue to grow and grow. The song overall definitely impressed many fans, and they cannot wait to see what happens next.
