With winter comes snow and how people deal with that snow varies from person to person. For some, it brings them back to their childhood and brings out joy among friends and family as they play in the snow, but for others, especially those people who drive, it brings out small bursts of anger because of terrible plowing. With traffic being a huge issue with drivers already, they don’t need snow on top of it because plows have pushed the snow into other lanes or on the side of lanes which cuts them off. Around local areas, plows tend to push over main streets and leave the rest to melt on their own which serves as a problem for the people who live on the side streets because they need to shovel themselves out of the snow, something that shouldn’t have to happen and hours after they’ve shoveled, the plows would come in and recover everything in snow which does nothing but irritate the people who live there.
Along with blocking driveways with snow and avoiding side streets, there is also the issue with the build up of snow in certain areas by intersections. Many times I have gone driving and have not been able to see past the snow piles that have been plowed into a spot and that alone could be deadly seeing as the piles are in spots where cars are notorious for speeding and not stopping. With the snow piles could come accidents which could get the plow drivers in quite a lot of trouble.
After it snows there are usually a few days where it is completely sunny which helps melt the snow, but snow piles have been pushed to cover sewers, which leads to excessive flooding. And seeing as there is quite a large amount of snow, the flooding that could soon come after could be hazardous, as it could leak into house and ruin yards. It could also cause flooding in the streets. All of this could be caused by the sole factor that the plowing wasn’t done right and it wasn’t done efficiently.
