Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was a Mexican self-portrait artist. To this day, Kahlo is considered one of Mexico’s greatest artists. Kahlo began due to paint after she was severely injured in a bus crash. Her time spent bedridden and bored inspired her to starts art, and once she started she didn’t stop. Kahlo loved art and she found beauty in many things. However, she was very lonely. Despite being married, she spent much of her time alone and painting. She still loved bustling crowds, dancing, and flirting- she was as extroverted as she was introverted. She treated everyone with kindness and valued honesty above all. Kahlo left paintings to lovers and friends when she passed on, and left the world with a wonderful light.
