Synopsis

Tim Lake, at the age of 21 discovers he can travel in time. Tim’s father reveals this information after a New Year party. Tim can’t change history but he can change the events that have happened in his own life.

With this, Tim embarks on a time traveling journey to find a girlfriend. Tim meets Mary, a beautiful yet insecure girl. They fall in love, then a time travel incident makes it that they had never meant at all. Tim travels back in time again and again in order to win her heart once more.

Tim then uses his power to create the perfect romantic proposal, to save his wedding from the worst best-man speeches, to save his best friend from professional disaster and to get his pregnant wife to the hospital in time for the birth of their daughter, despite a nasty traffic jam outside Abbey Road. But as his unusual life progresses, Tim finds out that his unique gift can’t save him from the sorrows and ups and downs that affect all families, everywhere.

Review

About time is more than just your regular rom com movie. Riddled with all the standard romantic cliches, About Time is so much more. It takes an outlandish premise, that of time travel, and puts it in a narrative context that makes one hardly question it, and actually adds something to the story.

With themes of family, love and cherishing the moment, this film portrays greatly what every romantic movie tries too. The acting is also good in the sense that the actors make the events that transpire believable. With the Sci-Fi element of time travel heavily involved, the actor’s chemistry make it look like an regular everyday occurrence.

About Time is truly timeless and is one of the greats among the rom com movie genre. I greatly enjoyed it and will rate it 4/5 hearts.
