During this unprecedented time here are five Netflix shows to watch.

Due to the spread of the Coronavirus, all citizens a strongly encouraged to stay home. Although this may seem boring there are plenty of television shows to watch on Netflix. Here are five TV shows to binge watch on Netflix to help ease your boredom.

Tiger King

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness released on Netflix on March 20, 2020 and has become a major hit. The series focuses on Joe Exotic a zookeeper who runs and owns The Greater Wynnewood Animal Park. It also intertwines other big cat conservationists such as Carole Baskin who runs Big Cat Rescue. These two have had a feud for years, leading Exotic to go to prison on a 22 year sentence.

Rotten Tomatoes gave this series an approval rating of 95% based of 43 critics. Also, on March 29 this show reached number one on Netflix. As of April 1, the show continues to dominate at number one and is becoming more popular by the day. I have not yet watched this series so I don’t have an opinion on it as of late. However, from what I am hearing I definitely should because viewers love it.

All American

All American is an American sports drama television series that premiered on the CW back in 2018. It currently has two seasons available on Netflix and a third one in the works. The series revolves around Spencer Jones, a young football star who lives in Crenshaw, a impoverish neighborhood in Los Angeles. He is recruited to play football for Beverly Hills High a rich neighborhood in Los Angeles. Here he struggles to balance the two lives and fit in with his peers.

Although this series wasn’t that popular when it premiered on the CW, it has since gained more of a popularity since reaching Netflix. It is currently ranked number two on Netflix which I think is rightfully so. Rotten Tomatoes has given this show a rating of 96% which I consider very fair considering how good it really is. All American is one of my favorite shows to binge watch n Netflix because it is so entertaining to the point I’m on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait until season three comes out because it is that good of a show.

Atypical

Atypical is a coming of age television series on Netflix that debut back in 2017. The series focuses on the life of 18 year old Sam Gardner who has Autism. With the help of his family, Gardner must navigate high school on the spectrum which is anything but simple to do. Throughout the series the audience sees that along with his fantastic drawings and fascination with penguins.

I personally find this series very underrated on Netflix. It hasn’t gain the popularity as most shows on this list but is just as good if not better. Keir Gilchrist who plays Gardner is not autistic, however, his acting is so good that you would never realize that. Rotten Tomatoes gave this show 87% which I think is too low of a rating. However, Atypical is currently on its third season and has been renewed for a fourth which is really exciting.

The Bachelor

The Bachelor is an American reality TV series that has aired 24 seasons. However, Netflix decided to pick up season 13 of this series which revolved around single parent Jason Mesnick. Mesnick was runner up on the previous season of The Bachelorette. He was so loved by viewers he became the bachelor. This season was probably the most dramatic season ever and the ending was anything but predictable.

The Bachelor is one of my guilty pleasures and I was excited when I saw it was on Netflix. I’ve been watching the bachelor for a few years now and I can honesty say this season left me speechless. The ending was truly unprecedented and I have never seen anything like it before. Hopefully in the near future Netflix gets a hold of other seasons because I can guarantee it will be a big hit by viewers.

The Office

The Office is a sitcom television series that debut in 2005. It is about the everyday lives of the office employees from Scranton Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. What is interesting about this show was it was filmed just like a documentary would be filmed. Also, it had no laugh track like most series had. Due to its hilarious content, the show received many awards including a Golden Globe and four Primetime Emmy Awards.

The office is by far one of my favorite television sitcoms and deserves all the praise it has gotten. It is so different than what I have ever seen before which is what makes it so intriguing to watch. Rotten Tomatoes gave The Office a rating of 81% which I feel is extremely low. Steven Carrell’s portrayal of manager Michael Scott in its self deserves more recognition. Overall, The Office is a great show to watch when bored especially in times like these.
