X Factor makes it return

It’s that time of year again for one of the most profound singer shows to air in the USA– The X-Factor. Simon Cowell continues to man the show for another season, marking its third season. On its opening show on September 11, 2013, it ranked up to 6.2 million viewers.

For this season on The X-Factor a variety of changes have been made to the show. Let’s start off with the judging panel which has been yet again tweaked with. Staying from last season is the creator of the show, Mr. Simon Cowell, and pop singing sensation, Demi Lovato.

A new judge that is appearing on the show is Paulina Rubio, well known for her Spanish singing ability. Another new yet well-known judge to take on the competition is one of the three Destiny’s Child singers, Kelly Rowland. The producers have created a show for a more diverse audience, and it makes more interesting for the audience to see how the new judges will turn out.

Since the beginning show the judges have been given some great competiters. The categories have been switched around a bit for the better; this year, the categories have been switched to Girls, Boys, Over 25s, and Groups. Last year the categories were Young Adults, Over 25’s, Teens, and Groups.

With these new groups they can better separate the contestants more appropriately. The way to get into the live shows and have a definite spot in one of the four categories doesn’t require going to the judge’s house anymore. They have developed a competition round known as the four chair challenge.

This challenge originated from the X-Factor Holland, but The X-Factor US borrowed and changed it a bit. After the team of judges was given their category: Cowell with Groups, Lovato with Girls, Rowland with Over 25’s, and Rubio with Boys, they then begin the intense round of the four chair challenge. For each category, the judges will choose ten members and from this challenge they will eliminate six of them. The idea is to fill the four chairs with who the judges believe will blow the competition away.

From the past seasons a few of the competitors that were in the competition have gone on to do bigger things in life. The X-Factor USA however seems to have a low percentage of winners becoming a well-known star after winning the show. Only several past competitors have been signed with Sony Music and have released music to the public.

The competition appearing on The X-Factor is rough and contestants have to be in it to win it. Stay turned on Wednesday nights, and Thursday nights at 8 P.M to witness the fierce competition present on stage.
